Entry In the early morning the enemy fired six trench mortars and some rifle grenades at trench 123, the objective being our offending catapults and mortars, but little damage was done. At noon the artillery registered on the Birdcage with a new 6in gun. During the morning aeroplanes were particularly active as the day was fine and clear. 3 Germans were accounted for by sniping in return. L/Cpl Hinge was wounded by a bullet in the arm while asleep.
