Regiment 1st Wiltshire
Location Belgium, Ploegsteert Wood
Entry In trenches. Sharp frost, bright day. Enemy exceptionally quiet. We shelled their line lightly at 12 noon, they replied with a few Whiz Bangs. Fourteen cadets, all of whom had 8 month service in the ranks, joined for 24 hours instruction in trench warfare! Work carried on at parapets and wire.
