On 22 June 1897, England, Portsdown. Battalion to London for duty at HM's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. Lined Westminster Bridge Road from Hercules Street to L. & S.W.R. Bridge for Queen's Procession, returning to Portsdown after Jubilee duties the same day.
On 28 Aug 1897, England, Portsdown. Battalion ('A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'G', and 'H' Companies - 17 Officers, 44 Corporals and 471 Men) by rail to Chichester for Manoeuvres as part of 4 Brigade. Two Drivers with 2nd Northumberland Fusiliers (5th) and 2nd Kings Shropshire LI (85th). Returned to Portsmouth after manoeuvres on 6 September
On 10 Sept 1897, England, Portsmouth. Battalion departed for Southampton en-route for Guernsey and Alderney. Embarked in SS 'Frederica' of L and S.W.R. Co. on 10 September, arrived and disembarked at Guernsey on 11 September
On 11 Sept 1897, Channel Islands, Alderney. Remainder of Battalion arrived in SS 'Frederica' from Southampton via Guernsey and disembarked ('A, 'C', and 'E' Companies)

On 29 Oct 1897, Bermuda. Battalion arrived from Halifax, en-route for West Indies. Due to damage to ships screw, Battalion disembarked and camped at Boaz Island while ship docked for repairs.
On 6 Nov 1897, West Indies, Barbados. Battalion, in SS 'Avoca', arrived from Halifax Nova Scotia. Headquarters, 'A', 'D', 'G' and 'E' Companies disembarked.
