On 17 Sept 1895, England, Southampton. Battalion of 20 Officers with Wives and children, 442 Non Commissioned Officers and men and 32 women with 35 children embarked on hired transport 'Britannia' (Captain Parfitt, P & O S N Co.), sailing for Karachi on 18 September
On 4 Oct 1895, Bhurma, Mandalay. 2nd Party ('A', 'C' and 'D' Companies - strength 250) with 60 Sick, 12 women and 12 children, departed by rail for Rangoon
On 5 Oct 1895, Bhurma, Rangoon. Regiment arrived from Mandalay and embarked in RIMS 'Warren Hastings' (17 Officers, three Ladies and six children; 138 Corporals and 806 Other Ranks) and sailed for Bombay
On 7 Oct 1895, India, Karachi. Having stopped at Port Said on 28 September and Suez on 29 September, 'Britannia' arrived at Karachi and the Battalion disembarked and transported by train to Barracks
On 16 Oct 1895, India, Bombay. Regiment (less ten Officers and 507 Other Ranks for 1st Battalion) sailed in TS 'Britannia' for England (strength 11 Officers and 513 Other Ranks). Touched at Aden on 21 October, Suez on 25 October, passed Gibraltar on 1 November, touched at Queenstown, Ireland on 4 November. Landed and disembarked at Southampton on 6 November and transported the same day by rail to Barracks at Portsmouth: Headquarters, Band and Drums and 'A' Company to Fort Widley. 'B' and 'C' Companies to Fort Purbrook. 'D' and 'F' to Fort Southwick. 'G' and 'H' Companies to Fort Nelson. 'E' Company to Tipnor Magazine.
On 19 Oct 1895, India, Karachi. 11 Officers, eight Sergeants, 500 Non Commissioned Officers and men, four women and three children joined 1st Battalion by HMOMS 'Warren Hastings' from 2nd battalion on its departure for England
On 6 Nov 1895, England, Portsdown. Home Establishment fixed at 801 All Ranks Detachment from 1st Battalion (8 Officers, 31 Corporals and 278 Men) joined Regiment.
On 2 Dec 1895, Canada. Battalion (20 Officers, two Warrant Officers, 876 Rank and File, 26 women and 32 children) embarked in Hired Transport SS 'Paronia' for Halifax, Nova Scotia.
