'C' and 'E' Companies relieved 'A' and 'B' Companies at Bara Gully 'G' and 'H' Companies relieved 'D' and 'F' Companies at Chungla Gully.
'A' and 'B' Companies to Kuldunnah after relief
'C' and 'G' Companies leave Chungla Gully (17 October 1882) for Kuldunnah, joining Headquarters there on 18 October.
On 20 Aug 1882, Egypt. 'D' and 'E' Companies deployed on Right Bank of Mahmouduh Canal engaged enemy. During fire-fight one casualty incurred (wounded).
On 29 Aug 1882, Egypt. Battalion proceeded to Bulkily Station and encamped. Draft (One Officer, three Sergeants and 100 Men) of Army Reserve men from 2nd Battalion arrived, with a further draft of the same composition arriving on 1 September.
On 17 Sept 1882, Egypt. 2nd Regular Egyptian Cavalry, a large force of Artillery and Infantry formed up in front of the Battalion and surrendered their arms.
