On 12 May 1874, Scotland, Fort George. War Office letter (dated 27 April 1874) styling Regiment as 99th (Duke of Edinburgh's Regiment) and authorising use of HRH Coronet and Cypher on Regimental Colour.
On 15 May 1874, India, Lucknow. Detachment of four Non Commissioned Officers and 56 Privates ('D' Company ) to Barrackpore.

On 21 Sept 1874, Scotland, Ballater. Old Regiment Colours presented to Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh for display and safekeeping at Clarence House
On 13 Jan 1875, England, Portsmouth. The Regiment landed here and passed and cheered H.M. The Queen on their march to Parkhurst, Isle of Wight.
