On 6 Sept 1842, India, Sickree Gully (At Anchor). At about 2 o'clock in the morning a violent hurricane arose, causing many of the moored boats to be swamped. Two Officers, 43 Other Ranks, six women and twelve children were lost, together with the Regiment's Colours
