Entry Work as yesterday. Patrol. LT WEAVER, 2LT BERRY and 2Lt SHILLCOCK MC, 46 ORS, 24 Bn Scouts, 3 Lewis Gun detachments left VAN 8 and VAN 10 at 0220 hrs to raid enemy outposts between the VARDAR and MACUKOVO. The patrol split into 2 parties (a) 40 ORS and 2 LGs under LTs WEAVER and BERRY (6). The Bn Scouts and 1 LG under 2Lt SHILLCOCK. At 0300 hrs party (a) stormed PITON DES QUATRE ARBRES undercover of our LGs in face of rifle fire and bombing from the enemy. On reaching the crest of the hill the attacking party found that the enemy had fled, they therefore pushed down the Northern slope of the hill. Party (b) had in the meantime engaged the enemy on the EAST side of the hill. Strength of enemy outpost on PITON DES QUATRE ARBRES estimated between 25 and 30. The enemy put down a barrage of H.E. and shrapnel in front of PITON DES QUATRE ARBRES and 2 MGs opened fire from PITON DES MITRAILLEUSES. Casualties 1 OR killed, 6 OR wounded (5 to duty). CAPT J.H.G. LAWRANCE MC sick to hospital. Remarks. 4 OR rejoin from IBD, 1 OR sick to hospital.
