Location Mesopotamia, In Bivouac [between Chaliyeh and Deli Abbas
Entry At about 1a.m moved forward a further 1000 yds and dug in a line of Lunettes, guns moving up to support us. During the day enemy shelled us heavily and we also came under a considerable amount of machine gun and rifle fire. Capt. L. Kettlewell was wounded. The day turned out very hot and we had about 50 casualties through heat. Relieved during evening by 7th Gloucesters and marched 4 miles to bivouac. 2 Lieut J.F.H. WILLIAMS admitted sick to Field Ambulance.
