| Entry | Battalion marched off at 8.30a.m. In sight of BAGHDAD we were ordered to proceed direct to the City to keep law and order much looting having taken place. The inhabitants received us with great enthusiasm. The people packed the streets and throughout the day our soldiers were cheered and welcomed wherever they went. About 6p.m the Battalion was relieved by the 35 Brigade and went into Bivouac near Cavalry Barracks just North of City. |
