Entry At 0630 hours the left platoon of C company was attacked by an enemy patrol of about 20. The platoon was on the alert and the Hun was quickly driven off leaving 1 officer and 2 men killed and 1 man wounded who was taken prisoner. The platoon also captured a German automatic rifle. At 1600 hours orders were received that we were to be relieved by the 9th Welch that night. The relief took place about 2000 hours and was completed by 2130 hours, The Battalion moving back and taking up position in rear in support. Coys were disposed along sunken roads and trenches, 'A' coy and Bn HQ being dug in along the Railway embankment.
