Photograph includes Lieutenant Bartley Denniss, who was wounded on the retreat from Mons, later served in the 5th (Service) Battalion Royal Berkshires but died from his injuries in 1918. 1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photocopy of a photograph of members of ?C? Company who had 1st World War service. This photograph was taken in India during the 1920s and is named. Captain K P Smith served in the 2nd/4th Battalion during the 1st World War and during the 2nd World War commanded the troops on the Island of Malta during the Siege. During the Normandy Landings he commanded 185 Brigade. He later wrote a book of his Army life called ?Adventures of an Ancient Warrior?.
