1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photograph showing the officers of the Battalion together with the Colonel of the Regiment, Major General E.T. Dickson on the 12th August, 1914. This photograph was taken in Mandora Barracks, Aldershot, just prior to the Battalion's embarkation for the Western Front on the 13th August 1914. 1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photo of the Battalion Machine Gun section at Aldershot in 1913, who were the winners of the machine gun challenge shield and cup (Eastern Command); the Battalion team beat the Rifle Brigade by one point. The photo includes Lieutenant Colonel Graham (seated to the left of the shield as you look at it), Lieutenant Frizell (to the right of the shield) and Sergeant Smith (on the other side of Frizell from the shield), who won the Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1914 and was commissioned in 1918.
