1st Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A sepia digital image of Private 5656 Henry James Farr. He went to France in 1914 and was wounded in the foot. He returned to England where he got married (still on crutches) and spent the remainder of the war on garrison duty in Ireland. At some point he was discharged but re-enlisted into the 3rd Somerset Light Infantry on the 26th April 1918. In the 2nd World War he enlisted in the Home Guard. [He was born in Trowbridge, Wiltshire with his address on enlistment being, Moortown, Conford, Near Wimborne, Dorset. His trade was a dairy worker.] He also served in South Africa during the Boer War.
