5th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A collection of documents belonging to Captain P. J. Prior, the documents cover the period 1939 to 1945. Included are three speeches made to troops concerning the victory over Germany, they are dated May and June 1945 and May 1946; three Menus, the first menu is dated the 29th of November 1944, the second Friday 25th of July 1947 (the dinner was held by General Sir Miles C Dempsey), and the date of the third is unknown. Two of the Menu's have a handwritten or signatured list of attendees in them, one has the names of attendees typed in order of rank inside and on the back cover of the menu. The document includes an issue of the 'Battalion News' dated the 28th of March 1945, the location given is West Germany. There are three documents that contained detailed information on proceedures (or orders) to follow. The document includes a number of training manuals for various courses, photocopies of fitness and medical records and a memoir entitled 'Fifty Years Ago Today' written by P J Prior CBE, DL and dated the 6th of June 1994 which recalls the D Day landings.

Wiltshire Regiment - A Certificate of Service for No. 5562283 Colour Sergeant William Cyril Francis Woodward, who enlisted at Maidstone on 1st March 1919. He was discharged on his own request with less than 21 years of service towards engagement on 14th October 1936. There is also an "In Memoriam" card for Francis Scott Cowtan, Captain serving with 7th Wiltshire Regiment, who died of wounds received in action on the Balkan Front on 24/25th April 1917. It is not known why it was kept among documents belonging to Colour Sergeant W. C. F. Woodward.

The documents include a Soldiers' Service and Pay Book (covering the period 1940 to 1945), a Release Book (dated the 8th February 1946), a Message from the Commanding Officer (dated the 8th May 1945, the location given is Germany), a Despatch for Distinguished Service (dated 9th August 1945), an embroidered Souvenir of Rouen card, a Certificate of Transfer to the Army Reserve (dated the 12th December 1946), a Record of Service Card (covering the period the 3rd April 1940 to the 25th April 1946), an awards record entitled 'Campaign Stars, Clasps and Medals instituted in recognition of Service in the War of 1939- 45', a further Mention in Despatches (dated the 22nd December 1945), a letter informing Woodage of a medal he has won (dated the 3rd October 1946), a Life Membership card for the Old Comrades Association (dated the 15th June 1961), a "C" Company name label for Woodage and a page of notes (taken from a book) with the sub-headings 'Sergeants Mess Notes', and '6th Battalion'.
