Cold War Warriors The story of the Duke of Edinburgh\'s Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) 1959-1994 by Lieutenant Colonel David Stone.  The Regiment was formed in 1959 from an amalgamation of the Royal Berkshire Regiment (Princess Charlotte of Wales\'s) and the Wiltshire Regiment (Duke of Edinburgh\'s). This publication follows this modern Regiment  through its service in many parts of the world. The title comes from the fact that the timeline of the regiments existence almost mirrored the Cold War. As a single battalion regiment it fell to the defence re-organisation in 1994 when they were merged with the Gloucestershire Regiment to form the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.  In 2007 they were again merged this time into \'The Rifles\' one of the largest Regiments in the present day army. The Author Lieutenant Colonel David Stone was well acquainted with the Regiment joining them as a Subaltern in 1967, later commanding the battalion in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
