The Royal Berkshire Regiment in the Second World War - 2nd Battalion
A paperback book of 242 pages with the addition of extracts from the Regimental History, the Organisation of Battle and an Index makes this latest edition a much improved version. This book is for all those with an interest in the 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshires during World War 2. The original diary is only to be seen at the National Archives at Kew, London, so publishing this transcript will assist all those who are interested and also hopefully reduce the demand to see the originals. The narrative text, extracted from the excellent History of The Royal Berkshire Regiment (Princess Charlotte of Wales’s) 1920 - 1947 by Brigadier Gordon Blight relating to the service of the 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshires in World War 2, and a transcription from the Battalion War Diary for the period January 1943 – September 1946 will hopefully give as complete a picture as possible.
