1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A copy of a sepia photograph of Regimental Sergeant Major 5656 John W.G. Hammond, Military Medal. He is pictured here in Germany at the end of the war in 1919 prior to the Battalion's return to England. RSM Hammond returned to Reading with the Cadre and was one of only six soldiers from the Battalion to have been mobilized with the Battalion in 1914 and survive the war.
