Object Showcase - New Object on Display

22nd Mar 2018

A new object is now on display in our Object Showcase.  A beautiful handcrafted item belonging to the Hadendowa clan, part of the Beja tribe.  They joined the Madhist uprising and were part of the surprise attack on the British and Indian troops in the Battle of Tofrek.  The clan’s bravery and valour in battle was widely recognised amongst the troops.

Can you guess what it is?
