1st Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A sepia group photo of some of the officers believed to have been taken late in 1916 in France. It shows, in the rear row from left to right, Lieutenant Richard Edward Elcho Skyrme (killed in action 6th February 1917,) Lieutenant Brook, Lieutenant Swayne, Lieutenant Hill and Lieutenant Eric Percy Mervyn Barton (Killed in action 3rd September 1916). In the front seated, again from left to right are -?-, Captain H. B. Brown (by 1918 awarded MC & Bar), Lieutenant Macklin MC, Lieutenant Horncastle and Lieutenant Geoffrey Killigrew Wait, MC (He won the MC in 1917, was wounded for the 2nd time in 1918 and remained in the Regiment between the wars, finally being killed in an air crash in 1942). This photograph is in the Imperial War Museums' collection and has the following title ''Group portrait of officers of the 1st Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment, after their return from fighting at Thiepval, photographed at Bouzincourt, September 1916.'
