SBYRW : 408462nd Regiment - A photocopy of a memo from Ensign D.Davis, sent to the Right Honourable Lord Viscount Palmerston, Secretary for War, claiming a pension for his orphaned sister, dated 19th December 1812. There is also a covering note for it, sent by his Commanding Major, dated 21st December 1812. From the date, it is assumed that this was the father of the Viscount Palmerston who held this position after the Crimean War some 40 years later

View Item1st Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - Three newspaper cuttings (Copyright) regarding the death of Major Percy Hamilton Seymour, the Duke of Somerset, who died aged 74. He joined the Regiment in 1933 and served in India at the begining of the 2nd World War. During the War he was with the Indian Army in Iraq, Persia and Burma. He retired from the Army as a Major in 1954. There are also two copies of a Chapter XV entitled "How we met a defeat" (taken out from unknown publication). On the copies there is a photograph depicting "A group at the Dzongpen's Shekar" showing Colonel Norton. Finally there is one page from "The Journal of the Wiltshire Regiment" with an article entitled 'Major The Duke of Somerset', regarding his service

The article is regarding the death of Sergeant David Enders, and describes his service in the Army, his career in prison service and gives the details of the funeral service. There is also a letter sent by Mrs. Enders to Colonel Boggis. In the letter Mrs. Enders informs him of her husband's death, thanks Colonel Boggis for his letter and phonecall and offers to help by making a donation to her husband's Regiment, she also encloses with the letter the newspaper cuttings described above.

Smith) written to the Curator of Wiltshire Regimental Museum on 13th November 1984. It is regarding obtaining information about a village were his brother was killed.
