SBYRW : 368541st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A sepia photograph of the National Service intake number 55 about to leave the Battalion for demob in 1958 whist in Cyprus. In the back row from left to right they are Privates Greenaway, Underwood, Corner, Pete Acott and Don Baker and, in the front, Privates Read, Skuse, Llewellyn, Matthews and Whittington. [The constant turnover of National Servicemen caused a number of problems with continuity and skills. Some were 'persuaded' to serve for an extra year which gave them a small pay rise]
