1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A sepia photograph of those members of 'C' Company who were winners of the inter-platoon shield 1914. Photograph includes Lieutenant Bartley Denniss, who was wounded on the retreat from Mons, later served in the 5th (Service) Battalion Royal Berkshires but died from his injuries in 1918. Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white portrait photograph of Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Vivian Bartley Denniss. He died of wounds on the 28th August 1918. He is buried in Hillingdon and Uxbridge Cemetery, London. He was the son of Sir Edmund Bartley Denniss, K.C., and Margaret Ellen, his wife, of Belmont, Uxbridge, Middlesex. He had been Mentioned in Dispatches.
