99th Regiment - A black and white photo of the graveyard at Eshowe, the last resting place for the 31 soldiers who died during the siege, which lasted from 24 January to 3 April 1879. In addition to Lieutenant Davison, the following soldiers of the 99th Foot were also buried here: – Privates Shields and Paul (dysentery); Lewis, Roden, Swann and Venn (enteric fever); Coombes (typhoid fever); Tubb (sunstroke); Knee (drowned) and Kent (killed by Zulus).

99th Regiment - A sepia photograph of the graveyard at Ekowe, (or Eshowe) taken on the 10th June 1879. A caption below the image states that it was 'taken in a storm of rain'. This graveyard was the last resting place for the 31 soldiers who died during the siege, which lasted from 24 January to 3 April 1879. In addition to Lieutenant A.S.F. Davison (died 27th March 1879), the following soldiers of the 99th Foot were also buried here: – Privates Shields and Paul (dysentery 4th March 1879); Lewis (died 28th March 1879), Roden (died 26th March 1879), Swann and Venn (enteric fever - 17th March 1879); Coombes (typhoid fever 21st March 1879); Tubb (sunstroke 16th March 1879); Knee (drowned 21st February 1879) and Kent (killed by Zulus 17th March 1879).
