A colour photograph of the Colonel in Chief, the Duke of Edinburgh, being saluted by Major S W J Saunders, the commander of number four guard. The right marker is WO2 (CSM) P Mehrlich. Major Saunders later reached the rank of Brigadier and was assassinated on the way to work in Athens where he was the defence attaché.

A colour photograph of the Colonel in Chief, the Duke of Edinburgh, inspecting number four guard escorted by Major S W J Saunders. He is preceeded by two corporals, known as 'stickmen'. The officer in the foreground is Lieutenant R Allen who was later killed in the Chinook crash on the Mull of Kintyre in 1995. Colour Sergeant C Watts is the left marker.
