A colour photograph of the Colonel in Chief, the Duke of Edinburgh, being saluted by Major S W J Saunders, the commander of number four guard. The right marker is WO2 (CSM) P Mehrlich. Major Saunders later reached the rank of Brigadier and was assassinated on the way to work in Athens where he was the defence attaché.

The officer in the foreground is Lieutenant R Allen who was later killed in the Chinook crash on the Mull of Kintyre in 1995. Colour Sergeant C Watts is the left marker.
