In the back row from left to right they are Privates Greenaway, Underwood, Corner, Pete Acott and Don Baker and, in the front, Privates Read, Skuse, Llewellyn, Matthews and Whittington. [The constant turnover of National Servicemen caused a number of problems with continuity and skills. Some were 'persuaded' to serve for an extra year which gave them a small pay rise]

The majority had served in the 1st World War.
