1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment - A black and white photograph of the escort to the Colours marching down Kingsway, Valletta, Malta, to take up position for the opening of Parliament, October 1963. In command is Captain. Tremellen, with Company Sergeant Major Briggs as the right guide. In the centre is Private Pinnell who spent many years in the Regimental Police and later was awarded a British Empire Medal. Captain. Tremellen came to the regiment from the Royal Berkshire Regiment with family connections going back many years. CSM Briggs came to the regiment from the Wiltshire Regiment and was a boxer and coach of some note.
