1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white digital photograph of four members of the battalion in Great Yarmouth on the 6th June, 1941. Top Left is Sergeant Ernest William Fereday, Top right Private Napper, Bottom Left Sergeant 'Lofty' Allen, bottom right 'Titch' Surname not known. (At this time they all had pipes because one day whilst patrolling the beach area they found a large box which they broke open, they weren't supposed to do this and orders were to report it to the Coast Guard, This box was full of Dunhill pipes, tobacco pipes and I think every man in the Battalion ended up with a Dunhill pipe.
