1st Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A sepia photograph of a group of officers in Curragh Camp, in Ireland in 1892. Stood far left is Major Harry M. Carter, sitting 1st left is Captain Ernest C. Eicke, seated in the centre is Major General Lord R. Kerr, 5th from the left is Captain Herbert T. de C. Hobbs, followed by Lieutenant Aitken (ADG) and Lieutenant William Eyre Matcham. Stood far right is 2nd Lieutenant R.G.Horner, seated front 3rd from the left is Lieutenant James Fredrick Forbes, seated far right at the front and Lieutenant Arthur E.H. Raikes. Lieutenant Matcham appears in a number of images from this time, on each and every occasion he appears to be hiding his face behind a dog!
