1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment - A black and white photo of a patrol from the Battalion coming through Magazine Gate leading to the Bogside in Londonderry in 1979. The patrol commander (front right) is Corporal Tait, with (left) Private Hall, (rear right) Private Hillier. Corporal Tait remained in the regiment for many years, up to and including the amalgamation with the Gloucestershire Regiment in 1994. He later became the new Regiment's second RSM, retiring as a Captain. His brother also served in the Regiment.

[The Battalion were the winners of the Inter unit cup presented by the Middlesex Regiment and the inter unit cup presented by the Singapore Volunteer Corps for the highest total in the track events]
