1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photograph of the officers at Bethune, 1915. This was taken shortly before the Battle of Loos. In the centre of the photo at the front is Captain M.C. Radford, DSO who was killed at Loos. On the right hand side, sixth from the camera [leaning forward] is 2nd Lieutenant A.B. Turner who was fatally wounded at Loos and who won the Victoria Cross. Left nearest camera is Captain Fullbrook-Leggatt, then Lieutenant Getting [KIA 28.9.1915, an RAMC officer, Captain [QM] Boshell DSO, Lieutenant Hall [KIA 28.9.1915], Lieutenant Jerwood. Right Captain Frizzell DSO, Lieutenant Eagar, Royal Artillery Officer, Lieutenant Gregson-Ellis MC, Lieutenant Stokes MC, Lieutenant Turner VC. The officers mess staff are at the rear who were managed by Sergeant Ashley [Centre rear]
