SBYRW : 75722nd Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A black and white photo of the Officers in Syria in 1944; a note with this photo reads . 'Having taken part in the landings in Sicily and Italy the breakout from Anzio and the advance to Rome in 1943, the,2nd Wiltshires were withdrawn for a rest having suffered nearly 600 casualties in three months. In July 1944 the 5th Division of which,2nd Wiltshires had been a part since the start of the War moved to Palestine with the Wiltshires spending most of their time training at Nathanya, Damascus - near where this photo was taken - and Gaza. The photo shows the Officers seated with Gen Sir William Platt, the Colonel of the Regiment.'

SBYRW : 185671st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photo of Army School of Physical Training (India) No 2 Section, 2nd British Short Course, Ambala which contains one or more soldiers from the Battalion. This photo is one of a collection of 14 of the Battalion found by a building contractor who was working on an unoccupied house in Aldershot and deposited by him at the Army Medical Museum there; three of the photographs are named and the original owner, L/Corporal Greenaway, has been identified by his being the only common denominator to these three photographs.
