SBYRW : 639051st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white digital photograph of a platoon group at Ormsby Manor at a time when the battalion was reorganising after Dunkirk. They consisted with what remained of the regulars, conscripts and a few volunteers. Forth along at the top, the chap dressed in white, he was the chef and in fact he came from one of the colleges in Oxford, Christchurch. He didn't stay long as he was too good for us. He dished up some beautiful food out of the meagre rations that the army dished out. In this group, consists of Bren Gun Carrier, Motorcycle and Admin members. (Rear Row L to R) Corporal H.
