They won the shield as winners up, by half a point to the 4th Battalion Wiltshire Regiment in the 1966 Duke of Edinburgh's Trophy Competition, a 36 hour test of shooting, marching, running and swimming. The 12 man teams of these two TA Battalions beat eight regular and four other Territorial teams.
