99th Regiment - A sepia photograph of the graves of the men of the 99th at Euphorbia Hill near Fort Pearson. This was largely filled by those who died from disease rather than enemy action. Soldiers from the 99th Foot known to be buried here are Private C Baden who died 2 March 1879, Private N Jones who died 3 March 1879 and Private W Painter who died 13 March 1879. All three were in 'D' company and died from typhoid.
