1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment - A black and white photograph dated 15th June 1961 showing members of the battalion during a pause in training on Salisbury Plain before the up and coming deployment to Canada on Exercise 'Pond Jump'. The first British battalion to deploy. (L to R) Sergeant Francis Payne, Sergeant Len Brett, Captain John Macmillan, Sergeant William Dunscombe, Lieutenant David Jones. [Lieutenant Jones later became the Commanding Officer of the battalion 1977-1980]
