Present are Lieutenant Colonel E.H. Burney, 2nd Lieutenant Steele, Lieutenant A.H. Bathurst, Lieutenant Murphy, Lieutenant Wray (Attached) and Lieutenant R.H. Collins, all being waited on by Private Hare (stood left). The photograph was taken by Lieutenant C.W. Hemp.

4th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A sepia group photograph of the Commanding Officers of the Battalions in the South Midland Brigade at Beaulieu in 1909. It shows, standing from left to right, Colonel Hon A.B. Bathurst (5th Gloucesters), Lieutenant Colonel Oswald Pearce-Serocold (Army Service Corps Company) and Colonel Hon T.J. Fremantle (1st Bucks Battalion). Seated from left to right are Colonel W.H. Ames (4th Oxfordshire LI) and Colonel L.H. Hanbury (4th Royal Berks). [Note ? Colonel Serocold was a previous Commanding Officer of the 4th Royal Berks, and later commanded them for a second time. We believe that Colonel Bathurst?s son served in the Royal Berkshire Regiment during the 1st World War]
