1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh’s Royal Regiment – A ships mast head lamp. This was presented to the Officers Mess in Osnabruck, West Germany in 1981 by the battalion Medical Officer, Captain Shelia McDonald on her departure from the Regiment. The reason for presenting this item was to assist the officer’s mess in enhancing the naval theme to the mess in recognition of the Regiments link to the Navy via the Battle of Copenhagen, 1801.
