Sergeant in charge" - it is not clear whether this photo was taken in India but, given the uniform being worn, it is more probably in Palestine in either 1917 or 1918

1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A seoia photograph of a group of soldiers at Razmak, Waziristan on the North West Frontier of India The inscription on the rear reads "a Frontier Piquet and its little Garrison, Reading Piquet, 2nd highest Piquet in Wazirisatan". Corporal Westall of 'C' Company is believed to be in the photograph which was taken between 1924 and 1928 when the Battalion was stationed at Razmak on the North West Frontier of India
