99th Regiment - A sepia portrait photograph of Lieutenant Henry Oxenden Weare in civilian clothes. He joined the Regiment on the 22nd March 1871 and served until 1876. He was killed in a horse riding accident in India in 1880 after he left the Regiment. It is believed that at some point he served in the 9th (Norfolk) Regiment in the North West Frontier. He was the only son of Lieutenant General Sir Henry Weare KCB and Charlotte Georgiana Oxenden. His father served in the 50th Regiment in New Zealand in the 1860s.
