8th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A colour photograph of Ex-Private George Strong taken in his 100th year. He was the last surviving member of the Battalion. He went to France with the Battalion and was wounded in their first action at the Battle of Loos in 25th September 1915. After recovering from his injury, he was transferred to the Military Foot Police. In 1919 he was on duty in France when he guarded the body of the unknown warrior prior to it being transported back to England. After demobilisation, he worked for many years on the railways.

They are displaying a home made flag showing the China Dragon and the battalion number. The soldier stood in the doorway (rear right) has been identified by Ex Private George Strong as being him.
