Wiltshire Volunteers - Two colour photos of Sergeant W G Sheppard aged 104. Born in 1877, he started his service in the Volunteers (1895-1898) and then transferred to the ASC for both the Boer War (1899-1902) and the 1st World War (1914-1920 - including time in the Army of Occupation in Germany); he was a Special Constable in the 2nd World War, as well as being a Police Tailor 1939-1959 until he retired. He won the Volunteer Best Recruit Rifle Shooting Prize in 1895 and did three annual camps with the Volunteers in the Aldershot area.
