1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh?s Royal Regiment - A black and white photograph of an armoured bulldozer in Cyprus in 1964. On 18th March 1964, patrols from Headquarters Company located a Greek Cypriot armoured bulldozer on the move in the walled city in Nicosia. Whilst being followed it threw a track and was unable to move. Sergeant Parsons was deployed to take intelligence photographs. After two attempts to get the photo and with the Greek police threatening to shoot, he completed his mission with the results being taken back to Headquarters 16th Parachute Brigade under whose command the Battalion operated. As a result of this event, the Battalion 3.5 Rocket launcher teams were deployed.
