1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photocopy of a photograph of Lieutenant Cail Nicholson DSO. He is seen here in the uniform of the 14th Hussars in which he served between 1902 and 1907. Whilst on the reserve he was attached to the 3rd Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment, and on the outbreak of the First World War he was sent to the 1st Battalion where he was awarded he Distinguished Service Order in October 1914. He was wounded during this attack and was returned to England where he died. He is buried in Shiplake (SS Peter and Paul) Churchyard.
