1st Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A black and white photograph showing Wiltshire Regiment members of the 'Hampshire' Battalion after returning from Russia on 6 October 1919. They returned to Crowborough where its members were dispersed to their own Regiments, 'Z' Company rejoining the 1st Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment in Dublin. Before leaving the camp many of the soldiers sat for commemorative photographs. This one shows CSMs Yeats; Robbins; Moss; Waite, MC, DCM; and Bramstt; CQMS Archard, and Sgt Drummer Porter. CSM Waite is seated in the centre row on the right. On his left lower sleeve are three wound stripes. On his left upper arm is the White star which was worn by all units serving in the North Russian Expedition.

He was the son of Charles and Margaret Moss, of Reading; husband of Edith Clara Moss, of "Dunnville," 118, Basingstoke Rd., Reading. He was killed in action on the 8th August 1918 and is buried in the Beacon Cemetery Sailly-Laurette (Grave V1.C.4.)
