Wiltshire Regiment - One of a collection of 49 black and white photographs taken by a Salisbury Journal photographer of a Battlefield Tour organised by the 4th Wiltshires in 1965 covering the actions of 4th and 5th Wiltshires in September and October 1944 in an area called 'The Island' the far side of Nijmegen - this photo is of some of the party walking down a muddy track; they include 2nd Lieutenant Butcher, Brigadier Luce, Lieutenant Eyers, Sergeant Westwood, Sergeant Dredge, Sergeant Austen and Sergeant (later 2nd Lieutenant) Jenkins Copyright. Wiltshire Volunteers - Officers, senior warrant officers and sergeants on board ship en route to South Africa to join the 2nd Battalion. Standing, left to right, are Sergeant Thomas; Colour Sergeant Yardley; Lieutenant Luce (died of disease); Major Folkestone; Sergeant Harding (died of enteric fever 13 May 1900); Lieutenant Kendle; Sergeant Booker. Sitting, left to right, are Sergeant Gough, Sergeant Elwood (slightly wounded at Slapkrantz July 1900). Lieutenant Luce is remembered on the Malmsbury Memorial which reads "To the glory of God and in memory of Walter Cecil Luce Lieutenant of the Volunteer Service Company of the Wiltshire Regiment. Born November 27th 1873. Died at Springfontein South Africa February 11th 1901."

Wiltshire Regiment - A black and white photograph of the Parade formed up in Salisbury Market Square on 3 December 1947 when the Regiment was awarded the Freedom of Salisbury. Number 1 Company was formed by soldiers from the 1st Battalion; Number 2 Company consisted of the Colour parties of the 1st and 4th Battalions together with the standards from fourteen branches of the Old Comrades Associations. Major Dutton MC commanded No 1 Company, Lieutenant Colonel Luce DSO commanded No 2 Company and Major Read No 3 Company. The parade as a whole was commanded by Lieutenant Colonel N Kenrick. The county cadets lined the parade ground.The 1st Battalion colour bearers were Lieutenant Etherington, Lieutenant Fairclough. The 4th Battalion bearers were Captain Brain and Captain Newton-Clare MC. The Bandmaster was Bandmaster Dalrymple, Parade Adjutant Major Royle, The RSM was RSM White, [No 1 Company RSM Davies, No 2 Company RSM Bull]

Wiltshire Regiment - A black and white photograph of the ceremony on 3 December 1947 when the Regiment was awarded the Freedom of Salisbury. This image (which has been printed in reverse) shows the Colour Company under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Luce DSO, the Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalion, marching along Blue Boar Row past the saluting base which was situated below the statue of Henry Fawcett. Also present is Regimental Sergeant Major Bull and Company Sergeant Major (WO2) Ainslie.
