Photograph includes Lieutenant Bartley Denniss, who was wounded on the retreat from Mons, later served in the 5th (Service) Battalion Royal Berkshires but died from his injuries in 1918. 5th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white photocopy of a photograph of a group of Sergeants of ?C? Company in France, 1915. (Stood) Sergeant Stanley William. Tarrant, Sergeant J. Lane. (Sat L to R) Sergeant J. Redford from Tilehurst, Sergeant C. Seymour DCM. . Sergeant Tarrant was captured on the 3rd July 1916 when the Battalion attacked the village of Ovillers on the Somme. He remained as a Prisoner of War until 1918. After the war, he resumed his employment at Eton College; he died in 1976. His full story is recounted in ?Their Duty Done?, a Museum publication, Pages 83 and 84.

1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh?s Royal Regiment - A black and white photograph of a search team from ?D? Company on the 17th February 1991. Whilst conducting a search around BCP 211 in some farm out buildings they came across a cow about to give birth. The attached Dog handler Private Boyd (4 UDR) admitted to having some limited farming experience and was immediately nominated as the vet. A healthy baby calf was delivered, an event much appreciated by the farmer. The photo shows, from left to right. Private Shuttleworth, L/Corporal Leighfield, Private Boyd, Private Chelmis and Private Lane. This incident happened when the Battalion was deployed as the Fermanagh Roulement Battalion from the 10th December 1990 to the 5th May 1991.
