1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A photocopy of part of a sepia photograph of members of No 3 Platoon, ?A? Company. The Sergeant sat on the right is 9382 Sergeant Edward Frank JONES, 1st Bn Royal Berkshire Regiment. D.C.M. M.M. & Bar. His citation for the Distinguished Conduct Medal read For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. He reorganised and led his platoon which had been temporarily held up by machine gun fire. He personally captured the enemy machine gun and brought it into action against two other machine guns, silencing them, and allowing the rest of the line to continue the advance and capture the objective. He showed fine courage and devotion to duty throughout.(L.G. 15th November 1918)
