The Depot, Wiltshire Regiment - A sepia photograph of a group of recruits at Le Marchant Barracks, Devizes in 1926. One of these recruits (Not identified) is Private 5566761 Harold Hutchins. He originally joined the Coldstream Guards but was not accepted due to age. After training he went to India for four years and after returning to England joined the Military Police. During the 2nd World War he went ashore on D Day with the Canadians on Juno Beach, 6th June 1944. After the war, he searched for high ranking Germans. He retired in 1948 as a WO 1 (RSM). He died in 2006.
