49th Regiment and 1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white portrait photo of Sergeant H Forster who was later killed in action as a Major, having been awarded the SDO and the MC; he can be seen here wearing crossed rifles on his right forearm indicating his qualification as a marksman and crossed flags on his upper sleeve denoting his Battalion trade as a signaller. 2nd Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A black and white digital  photograph of Major Harold Thomas Forster, DSO and Bar, MC and Bar. He enlisted in 1899 and died of wounds on the 29th May 1918 whilst in command of the 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. [Mosrt of his war service was with the 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment. It was from this Battalion that he was transfered to the Northamptons] He is buried in Terlincthun British Cemetery, Wimille.
